Education Without Borders Conference, March 24 - 29, 2013
SUU students are invited to apply for participation in the Education Without Borders conference in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, March 24 - 29, 2013. SUU will cover the registration fee and travel expenses for up to five student participants.
Education Without Borders is a biennial international student conference that creates networks across cultures in order to understand and generate solutions for some of the world's greatest challenges. The conference achieves this by engaging the world's most innovative students and leaders in the business, technology, education and humanitarian sectors in a collaborative forum that culminates in a commitment to action.
Qualifications:
- Must be a full-time junior, senior, or graduate student at SUU
- Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
To Apply:
The following documents must be submitted to the SUU Global Engagement Center by November 12, 2012:
- A completed Application Form
- A résumé that outlines your relevant experience
- Contact information for two references
who are either faculty or staff at SUU
- A 1 to 2-page essay that answers the following questions:
- Why would you like to participate in the Education Without Borders conference?
- How will your participation in the conference help you achieve your future goals?
- How will your participation in the conference benefit the others in attendance?
- How will you share the knowledge you gain at the conference with SUU and our community?

Additional Information:
- You must hold a valid passport to travel to Abu Dhabi.
- It may be possible to receive independent study credit by participating in this program. If selected, contact your department chair about this possibility.
- U.S. citizens will not need a visa to participate in the conference. If you are not a U.S. citizen, you will need to find out the visa requirements for your home country.
- Students are encouraged to submit research paper presentations to the conference. More information on this can be found at

- Students may apply to attend the conference on their own and pay their own way if they are not selected as one of the five students funded by SUU.
