Quarters for Queensland Project
The Quarters for Queensland fundraiser ended February 11, 2011. Thank you to everyone who generously donated their time and money to this relief project! With your help, we were able to raise $1,225 to send to Australia.

During late December & early January,
Queensland, Australia was hit with
massive flooding, which continues to
affect over 70 towns and over
200,000 people. Three-fourths of the state of Queensland has been declared
a disaster zone.
From January 20th through February 11th, SUU will be sponsoring a "Quarters for Queensland" flood relief
project. We are asking all who can to
donate at least a quarter a day for those
two weeks (or at least $3.50). SUU has
a partner university in Rockhampton,
one of the areas hit worst by the recent flooding. Also, three players on our men's basketball team are from Queensland. 100% of your donation will help
those affected by this terrible natural disaster.
News and Information about Quarters for Queensland
- Matt Massey, SUU Men's Basketball Team (emailed response to the GEC about the Quarters for Queensland fundraiser):
I will help in anyway possible. My house was ok, but a lot of my friends lost everything. My parents were cut off for several days because the water was so high. Just down the road where I played most of my basketball, the water was above the hoop. Hopefully I can help! ~ Matt Massey
