Employee Injury Emergency Procedures

  1. When an injury occurs, the employee should make an initial assessment as to whether or not the injury is serious [meaning the injury appears to be of such nature that the only safe course of action is to call an ambulance]. Employees should always err on the safe side. If doubt exists as to whether the injury is serious, assume it is serious.
  2. If the injury is serious enough to warrant immediate medical attention call 911 for emergency services. For less severe injuries requiring medical attention, employees should report to Work Med, which is located in the InstaCare Building at 962 S Sage Dr, Cedar City , telephone number 435-865-3460 for initial treatment.
  3. Employee injuries should be reported to the SUU Human Resources Office located in the Administration Building room number 106, telephone number 435-586-7754 as soon as possible. Work Med claims will be initiated by the Human Resources Office.
