| Description | Supervise adolescents in a residential treatment setting, provide safety and security for the residents and act as a mentor and an example for acceptable social behavior. Works with other staff under the supervision of supervisors and shift leaders. Direct care staff working with youth in a residential treatment setting. Staff are responsible for supervision, observation, documentation of behavior, and security and safety. The staff act as mentors and examples of positive and acceptable social behavior. Staff work on shift with other direct care staff, under the direction of a shift supervisor. Responsibilities Youth supervisors is primarily responsible for supervising residents, helping the residents learn from life skills and monitoring clients behavior in all activities ( including, cooking, life skills groups) The supervisors assists with cleaning and inspections of cleaning. They teach the residents who do not know how to correctly complete a project. The youth supervisor ensures residents follow facility rules and will consequent them if they do not. They help process their behavior if needed with them. Youth supervisor with help residents follow the daily schedule. Appropriate occurrences or information regarding resident's is to be documented. Will do daily documentations in staff notes of each resident's behavior. The will monitor phone calls residents receive. The youth supervisor can also help in the classroom and see as a tutor to the residents in need of academic help. The youth supervisor is responsible for ensuring that the youth complete their necessary tasks correctly. They are to model proper behavior in word and deed. They are to show example of how to handle conflicts rationally and how to be responsible and accountable for decisions made. Staff members are to ensure the safety and security of the residents and follow the schedule of the program and contact with the residents. They are to treat residents as clients in professional manner and respect the client confidentiality. They are to report to the director or shift supervisor on shift. |
