| Description | 1. Night Staff assists with cleaning and inspection of cleaning. They instruct clients who do not know how to correctly complete and follow through with a project. The Night Staff ensures clients follow facility rules and will document rule infractions using the consequent form. Process client behavior if needed with them. He/she will help clients follow the daily schedule. Appropriate occurrences or information regarding clients is to be documented in the shift change log. 2. Night Staff is responsible for ensuring that the youth complete their necessary tasks correctly. They are to model proper behavior in word and deed. They are to show example of how to handle conflicts rationally and how to be responsible and accountable for decisions made. Staff members are to ensure the safety and security of clients at all times by keeping the structure. Night Staff must maintain appropriate boundaries and contact with clients. They are to treat residents as clients in a professional manner and respect client confidentiality. They are to report to the Director or Assistant Director the next morning. 3. Night Staff is responsible for making rounds at the facility during evening hours. They are to check beds to make sure that all youth are in their rooms after lights out. They will continue checks every 30 minutes to ensure clients are in their beds sleeping all night (every 15 minutes for suicide watch or high run risks). 4. Night Staff will assess situations and respond accordingly to incidents. Staff is responsible for typing up progress notes, food sheets, laundry and chore list, make assignments for daily chores and deep cleaning chores, tally trends, tally and post points, wake up clients in the morning, assist with breakfast, and get clients started for the day. Staff is required to count and read essays and to check for proper accountability for past actions. Clients do not have to follow essay questions as long as accountability is taken. Night Staff is in charge of keeping track of clients in-house allowances. They are in charge of billing, payroll, laundry mat, student store, and life skills checking accounts for all the girls. 5. Night Staff is to make sure all bathroom lights are on and bathroom doors ajar. Both downstairs and upstairs lights need to be on in order to see in rooms. There is absolutely NO sleeping on shift. Noise, such as T.V., communication, and music needs to be maintained at respectable levels. Night Staff are not to use client belongings nor eat facility food. Eating facility and clients food that is not labeled as extras is considered stealing. 6. They are expected to adhere to a staff dress code. This includes no sandals, flip flops, or high heels. Night Staff needs to wear shoes suitable for running, climbing, or other strenuous activity. Modest clothing is also to be modeled. No belly shirts, immodest shorts, pajamas, or tank tops. Drug or alcohol is not to be advertised on clothing as well as demeaning or sexual logos. Staff members are required to dress professionally and realize they represent the organization. 7. Night Staff is expected to arrive promptly to work and leave work when the next shift has arrived. They are also expected to complete all appropriate paperwork assigned to them while on shift before they leave work. A scheduled list of Night Staffs duties follows: a. Monday Night: i. Upstairs light on to see in rooms vi. Consequences essays read and recorded d. Thursday Night: i. Clients Points ii. 30 minute room check and record iii. 15 minute checks & documenting those who are on suicide/runners watch. iv. Make sure all bathroom lights are on and bathroom doors ajar. v.
