Marketing & Public Relations Office

In the highly competitive world of higher education, the battle to attract students and employees with constraints on resources, such as tightening budgets, requires some strategic planning. The purpose of the Marketing Office of Southern Utah University is to consolidate and coordinate all marketing communication efforts associated with SUU. One of the ways in which we attempt to do this is in assisting members of the SUU community in planning their marketing goals, determining target audiences and coordinating media campaigns.

Overall, it is our objective to provide visions for a University-wide effort to:
     - Improve our institutional image
     - Enhance our brand identity and
     - Deliver consistent, meaningful messages
to SUU's many stakeholder audiences, including students--current and future, faculty, staff, alumni and friends.

The avenues by which Marketing works to fulfill these goals are via
     - News and Information
     - Public Relations
     - Publications
including university-wide collateral for on- and off- campus implementation, as well as a daily bulletin board, a monthly employee newsletter and a biannual alumni magazine
     - Trademarks & Licensing
     - Commencement
all of which are governed by the critical need for effective communication.
