Name: Jeb Branin, director of convocations
Southern Utah University’s Convocation Lecture Series is pleased to announce that Jack Rolfe, President of the non-profit School of Life Foundation, will kick off the 2011 Convocation Lecture Series with a presentation titled “Find Your Mission, Live Your Dream.”
This thought-provoking Convocation, scheduled for 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 18, will focus on Rolfe's work across the globe to better the lives of youth.
In 2007, Rolfe launched the School of Life Foundation to teach, train, motivate and inspire youth across the world to reach their full potential.
Since its inception, the foundation has helped more than 50,000 youth in 20 states and 11 countries with motivational direction and assistance in an effort to score "Straight A's" in the School of Life.
Rolfe's secret is contained in his book "Learn to School Your Toughest Opponent".
Rolfe’s vision to build the School of Life came through his experiences of coaching high school girls basketball for twenty years while also practicing as a physical therapist to the elderly in nursing homes. This unique perspective of working with the youth and senior population simultaneously sparked the inspiration to author his book and share his findings with young people across the world.
The same steps to success, peace and happiness contained in the School of Life curriculum is now additionally being presented through corporate training sessions and community workshops in partnership with the Wade Family Foundation.
At SUU, Rolfe will present his message in the SUU Auditorium. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Rolfe’s penchant for service has also led to the inception and leadership of two national mentoring initiatives within the nonprofit sector and in collaboration with the National Crime Prevention Council, the University of Notre Dame, the Utah Youth Mentor Project, Big Brothers Big Sisters, MENTOR, SkyWest Airlines, the Create a Miracle Project, and the Michigan Education Trust Department.
