The SUU Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative (IIC) was designed to be a centralized resource to simplify and better support student internships and other projects between Southern Utah University (SUU) and the land management agencies of southwestern Utah.
The Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative develops public land leaders of tomorrow by being a centralized resource of committed and engaged partners. We are collaborating to provide relevant and meaningful educational experiences and career opportunities to University and other youth in the region and meet partner needs for a diverse workforce. We encourage stewardship of and appreciation for the richness of the region’s lands and resources.
The Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative coordinates work- and project-based internship and service learning projects to serve the southern Utah region by matching the needs of state and federal land and resource management agencies with University students and departments seeking meaningful land management and education opportunities. Through this cooperative effort we promote professionalism in land stewardship and create opportunities to learn about and experience resource management while effectively serving our partners. IIC provides a unique organizational structure to network and communicate, access and share resources, and efficiently create and administer shared programs.
The Intergovernmental Internship Cooperative is a unique and diverse group of partners working together for a common purpose. Our members include:
