Staff Association

Contact Your Legislators

As the Utah Legislature prepares to convene for its 2009 Legislative Session on January 26, 2009, it is imperative that we express our concerns and opinions about how this year’s budget will be balanced. The legislature will determine how large SUU’s budget reduction will be for the remainder of this fiscal year and next fiscal year. Each of us can advocate for Southern Utah University by contacting our individual representatives and those who represent constituents in the SUU service area [Nine Counties: Beaver, Garfield, Iron, Kane, Millard, Piute, Sevier, Washington and Wayne].

The Staff Association has provided contact information for legislators who have ties to Southern Utah and sit on the Higher Education Appropriations Committee. Please take time over the next few weeks to contact your State Senator and Representative.

UHESA "Day at the Capitol"

Please join with members of the Staff Association Executive Board for our annual day at the capitol on Thursday, February 5th, 2009 room C250 in the Capitol Building. Meeting time is 10am. We will be meeting with our legislators to discuss budget items and higher education staff issues
