The Utah County Chapter of the Southern Utah University Alumni Association hosted its 1st Annual BBQ at the old Omsted Power Plant at the mouth of Provo Canyon on Monday, June 19, 2006. The BBQ marked the chapter's first official event since being organized earlier this year.
More than 50 alumni and family members gathered for good food and great company. Bill Byrnes, Dean of the College of Performing and Visual Arts, was in attendance and talked about happenings in his college and at the University as a whole. The BBQ was an excellent "jump-start" to SUU's newest alumni chapter.
Thank you to everyone who attended. Please mark your calendars and plan attend our next event on Saturday, September 16 in Ogden. We will combine forces with the Salt Lake Chapter and host a tailgate party prior to the SUU vs. Weber State Football game. It promises to be a great gathering so please help spread the word and watch the alumni website for more details.
