Jenny Taylor (1993) was appointed Kohler Co.’s director of public affairs and associate communications. She is responsible for the strategy and deployment of methods to align internal communications with the external brand. She creates and manages external media communications for crisis communications, labor relations issues and corporate initiatives, while managing associate communications. Before Kohler Co., Jenny was the global public affairs director at S.C. Johnson, where she was a company spokesperson; led executive media training, speech writing and issues management; and managed global brand public relations campaigns. Prior to that, she was the senior director of marketing communications at Kellogg’s, and the director of corporate media and community relations at grocery retailer Albertsons. Jenny earned a bachelor’s degree in communications with a focus in broadcast journalism and interpersonal communication, and a minor in marketing from Southern Utah University. She holds a master’s degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton.

Jana Beth RandsJana Beth Reeves Rands
(2009), CPA, has been promoted to Tax Senior for Tanner LLC, a professional audit, tax and consulting firm located in Salt Lake City.  Jana has over two years experience at Tanner in taxation and over two years experience at the Leavitt Group as a Regional Controller and internal auditor. Jana graduated from Southern Utah University Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science, minor in Spanish, and a minor in Music. She was awarded “Top Accounting Student of the Year.” Jana went on to earn her Masters of Accountancy from Southern Utah University where she also graduated Summa Cum Laude and was the UACPA award recipient. She is a licensed CPA and a member of both the AICPA and UACPA. Jana and her husband, Spencer, are happily married and live in Salt Lake City.

Jonathan BakerJonathan Baker (2006) has been promoted to Audit and Business Advisory Services Senior for Tanner LLC, Utah’s largest locally owned professional audit, tax and consulting services firm. During his career at Tanner and other firms he has served clients in a variety of industries including the manufacturing, health care, mining, financial services, oil and gas, gaming, and vacation services industries. Jonathan received his bachelors and masters degrees from Southern Utah University. He is a licensed CPA and a member of both the AICPA and UACPA.

(1986) is now chair of the psychology department at Georgia Southern University. He is editor for North America of Archive for the Psychology of Religion, the journal of the International Association for the Psychology of Religion and on the editorial boards of the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought, and the advisory board of Pakistan Journal of Psychology.

Natalie Sparks Johnson (1991) recently returned to the United States after living in Australia for 14 years. She resided in Brisbane, Northern Territory and Perth where she taught Home Economics, Art and Careers. In the Northern Territory (the Outback) she taught mostly Aborginal Australian teens how to cook and sew. In Perth, she taught mostly refugee teenagers and young adults about career exploration and Home Economics. While teaching students the Australian Nathan Anthem, she had each of her students stand and sing the anthem from their countries. The result was the singing of national anthems from Afghanistan, Burma, China, India and Somalia.

Marty GreenMarty Green
(1985) is an experienced financial services attorney that was recently appointed to lead the operation of Polunsky & Beitel in Dallas/Fort Worth. Marty, who is working from Polunsky & Beitel’s Dallas office, is an accomplished attorney with more than 20 years of experience in the legal, banking and financial services industries. He is the former Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Dallas’ CTX Mortgage Co., and most recently worked with the Baker Botts law firm in Dallas as Special Counsel. In his role as leader of the firm’s Dallas office, he will advise clients on the latest rules and regulations covering residential lending, in addition to building on Polunsky & Beitel’s long tradition of delivering loan closing documents with speed and accuracy.

Scott Bennett
Scott Bennett
(1999) has recently joined the office of the Graham County Attorney in Safford, Arizona, as the Chief Deputy County Attorney and lead trial attorney. He is responsible for overseeing the county's prosecution of criminal offenses and, in addition to supervising the other attorneys in his office, carries a personal case load including murder cases, serious sex offenses, and child abuse crimes.

Justin EvansJustin Evans (1998) is pleased to announce the publication of his first full length book of poems, Town for the Trees, recently released from Foothills Publishing. Justin is the author of three previous chapbooks of poetry, most recently, Working in the Bird House (Foothills, 2008). Town for the Trees is centered on the real life town of Springville, Utah. The book is part landscape meditation and part elegy for the world of our youth which we leave behind.  Justin is proud to have attended Southern Utah University, and never misses an opportunity to let people know about his experiences. Justin Evans has now lived the past 12 years  in rural Nevada with his wife and three sons, where he teaches English and history at the local high school. In addition to writing and teaching, he is editor of Hobble Creek Review, an on-line journal of poetry and place.

Soni MullerSoni Muller (1999) is a member of singing trio Mercy River. The group's music is filled with vivid harmonies and rhythmic serenity, and has quickly become a highly sought after addition to the inspirational music scene. The group recorded their self-titled album "Mercy River" and followed it up with their second album "Beautiful Dawn". Soni says she is completely in her element when she performs and enjoys the intimate feeling that develops as the audience connects with her music. Mercy River will be touring the country this year with Deseret Book's "Time Out for Women". Soni and her husband Treion have five children and live in Farmington, Utah.

Gavin Williams
(1996) has become a partner with the law firm of Holland & Knight LLP in Miami, Florida. Gavin, a member of the firm's Real Estate Section, focuses on real estate finance and the acquisition of real estate assets. He received his BS in Political Science and Communication from SUU, earned a masters from the University of Miami and received his JD, magna cum laude, at the University of Miami School of Law.

Ken LordKen Lord (2001) is a Vitreo-Retinal Fellow at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, having recently completed his ophthalmology residency training at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Ken attended Medical School at the University of Utah and completed a Preliminary Medicine Internship year at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He graduated from SUU with a BS in Biology/Zoology. Dr. Lord has a strong interest in medical informatics, is an active member of the Utah National Guard and is a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Silvina Jover-CirilloSilvina Jover-Cirillo (2009) recently finished her M.A. in Global Affairs at the University of Denver. She recently relocated to Tallahassee, Florida where she plans to work full-time using her skills as a linguist and researcher. Check out her website and the newly released language-related blog.
