Get Involved
Whether you graduated from Southern Utah University or College of Southern Utah,, there are plenty of opportunities to share your experience and encourage others to join or rejoin the SUU family. Here are a few ways you can volunteer and help our grand ol’ SUU!
One: Become an Alumni Mentor
When you were a student, there were probably times you wanted to ask questions of somebody who was already "working in the field." Somebody who was experienced and could help guide you during your education. Now you have the opportunity to be that person to a current SUU student. The Alumni Mentoring Network is a chance for you to share your knowledge with inquiring students. Learn more about the Mentoring Network and sign up today.
Two: Attend a college fair
There are hundreds, of college fairs around the country. The Admissions Office can’t begin to scratch the surface of attending these fairs. If you have time, they would love to send you a materials packet, provide a short web training session and let you tell future students about what SUU can provide them! If you are interested in representing SUU at a college fair in your area send us your name and contact information.
Three: Host a small open house in your home
Invite friends, neighbors, and family to an evening in your home. Share stories of your college and university days. Have refreshments and share some SUU publications. We will send you an information packet and a few special items that will help make the evening truly a T-bird event! Just let us know where you want the publication packet sent!
Four: Help at an Alumni sponsored event
The Alumni Relations Office and the Alumni Association host a variety of events throughout the year and alumni volunteers are always needed and welcomed. Assist in planning and implementing homecoming or founders day activities, greet incoming freshmen at the Carter Carillon, welcome new members of the alumni association at the grad-fair or assist with chapter activities or events. Let us know your interests and we will get you connected.
Five: Send an e-mail, note, postcard or letter to a prospective student
It’s easy to tell a prospective student about your experience at SUU! Writing a special note, postcard or letter takes just a few minutes and is great way to spread the word about how incredible you alma mater really is. You can add in your jotting, a special encouragement to look into attending SUU, even visit our website for more information. If writing isn’t your strength, pick up the phone! Share your experiences in person. Your knowledge and experience can help others find interest in attending SUU and college in general!
