New Years Greetings
to all SUU Alumni and Friends
When a friend of mine turned 40 years
of age, she received a greeting card which said on the cover, "time
marches on" and when opening the card the inscription continued,
"YOUR FACE!" While it is impossible to turn back the clock of
our lives it is possible
to learn from the past and hopefully improve future performance.
It has been said that those who refuse to study the mistakes of the past
are doomed to repeat them. As we review the year 2002, we are grateful
for lessons we have learned as well as the growth we have experienced,
and look forward to the opportunities the New Year will bring.
We in the J. Reuben Clark Jr. Alumni House are enjoying the renovation
that was completed in August and are also enjoying being so close to the
art exhibits in the large rooms. We invite you to stop by, visit and enjoy
the wonderful artwork displayed here.
With flourishing, active alumni chapters in Las Vegas, Salt Lake and Iron
County, we are in the final stages of organizing a chapter in the Phoenix,
Arizona area. Our short term goals are to organize chapters in Washington
County and Utah County. Additionally we have also had alums in Denver,
Colorado and Connecticut make inquiry about how they can organize chapters
in their areas as well. While we may not be able to travel to far distant
in the New Year and look forward to serving you wherever you are.
I am convinced that Southern Utah University has absolutely the best Alumni
to be found anywhere. No matter where we visit we find enthusiasm, loyalty
and commitment to SUU. We are energized by you and are excited to visit
with you. We invite you to participate in the programs and activities
of the University and the Alumni Association as well.
We wish you happiness and success in the New Year.
Sincerely,
Marlo B. Jensen
