ROTC Scholarships

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR ROTC SCHOLARSHIPS
4-year*
Starting college as a freshman

Already finished one year of college

If enlisted in the Army, you may qualify for a 4-, 3-, or 2-year scholarship

Under 27 years old on June 30 of the year you expect to graduate college and be commissioned. Extension up to three years may be granted to veterans.

Take the SAT or ACT by November of the year you apply.

Have a minimum of 920 SAT or ACT composite of 19.

Good high school grades.

Participate in leadership, extracurricular and athletic activities. (Part-time jobs earn substitute credit.)

High school graduate or equivalent.

Pursue an Army-approved academic major.

Agree to accept a commission as either a Regular Army, Army National Guard or U.S. Army Reserve officer.

Meet physical standards.

Be recommended by the Professor of Military Science (PMS).

* Selection of four-year scholarship winners is based on the results of SAT or ACT tests/ the school officials' evaluations; extracurricular, leadership and athletic activities; a personal interview with the PMS and a Physical Aptitude Examination.
** Selection of three-year scholarship winners is based on performance in academic studies (and military science courses if already enrolled in ROTC), successfully passing the Physical Aptitude Examination or Army Physical Readiness Test, a personal interview and observation by the PMS, an don demonstrated motivation towards an Army career.
*** Green to Gold applicants, in addition to the requirement above, must have completed two years of active duty prior to discharge and three months of service for every month of specialized training received. Applicants need a score of 180 or higher with a minimum of 60 points in each event on the Army Physical Readiness Test, a cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale for all previous college work, a GT score of 110 or higher, and other selection criteria as prescribed by regulation. SAT/ACT minimum not required to apply for a two-year scholarship.
