The Green to Gold Program is intended for soldiers currently serving on active duty with at least two years on active duty. Depending on the number of previously earned college credits, soldiers who enroll in the Green to Gold program may receive two, three, or four year scholarships. Those soldiers who have sufficient college credits may be given credit for the ROTC Basic Course and placed in the ROTC Advanced Course as an MS III cadet.
Securing a green to gold scholarship is difficult, but the benefits are great, comparable to those received by other scholarship cadets.
Benefits of this scholarship option include:
-Up to $20,000 in annual tuition assistance.
-$450 per semester for books ($900 annually).
-Monthly stipend of $300 for first year students, $350 for second year students, $450 for third year students, and $500 for fourth year students.
-G.I. Bill benefits may also apply.
Those soldiers who do not receive a scholarship but wish to enroll in ROTC may still do so under the Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP).
