Math 1050 College Algebra

Description:  This course explores the concept of functions: polynomial, rational, inverse, logarithmic and exponential; with an emphasis on graphing. Solving systems of equations using matrix methods is covered along with conic sections. Other topics may include sequences, mathematical induction and the binomial theorem. The course involves the extensive use of graphing calculators.

Credits:  4

Prerequisite(s): A recent (within the last two years) Math ACT of 23 or a grade of "C" or better in Math 1010 within the last two years.

Offered: Fall, Spring, Summer

Other: Fulfills the University general education quantitative literacy requirement.
