Numerical Scheme for Nonlocal Allen-Cahn and Allen-Cahn Equations
Sarah Brown and Jianlong Han, Southern Utah University
Wednesday, February 14, 2007, 4pm, in ELC 111
Abstract: In this talk, we propose a stable, convergent and linear finite difference scheme to solve numerically both nonlocal Allen-Cahn equation and Allen-Cahn equation which may model a variety of physical and biological phenomena involving media with properties varying in space. Also we prove that the scheme is uniquely solvable and the numerical solution will approach the true solution in the L-infinity norm.
