           Admisssion Questions:

  1.  What graduate programs are available in Education?  A listing of all the graduate programs can be found at http://suu.edu/ed/masters
  2.  When is the admission application due?  For a list of all the deadline dates http://suu.edu/ed/masters/deadlines.html
  3.  Can I apply for the Master of Education or Master of Education with an Administrative Endorsement without having a teaching license?  The SUU Masters programs are designed specifically to meet the needs of in-service teachers who desire to advance their instructive expertise to meet the educational needs of their current students.  One of the requirements for admission is the submission of a current up-to-date teaching license.
  4.  I have classes that I took from another university that I would like to see if they can be used as part of my program.  What do I need to do?  Submit a course syllabi or description (more than a two sentence overview) from the university that you took the class from.  Also, state which class in the SUU program you would like the class to fulfill. Either mail, fax 435-865-8485, or e-mail the course syllabi or narrative to Dr. Katy Herbold..  A review of the course will be done and you will be notified if the class will be accepted. ONLY graduate level classes that have received a passing grade can be considered.  
  5. I have missed more than two consecutive semesters what should I do?  Students who miss more than two consecutive semesters (not including summer), must do a readmit. through the registrar's office and pay the readmit fee.
  6.  I have not taken classes for over two years and the program has changed. Do I have to take the new classes?  Yes.  Program changes do happen from time to time for various reasons.  By returning to the program you will be under a new catalog, with new requirements that must be met in order to complete the program.  The six year program completion time frame only applies to those students who have been in continual enrollment.


    Registration Questions:
  7. How many credits may I take each semester?  You can take 12 credits per semester or summer session.
  8. When does the semester begin and end?  To view SUU Academic Calendar  http://suu.edu/academics/calendar.html
  9.  What classes are being offered for the fall, spring, or summer semester?  Go to http://suu.edu/ed/masters/suu-mastersofeducationclassschedules.html  and select the semester.  Generally the class schedule is post about four weeks before registration. 
  10. What do the following mean on the class schedule - Class XXXX-70I = Internet class ( This class is taught online through WebCt. You don’t attend the class in person) ;  Class XXXX-70E = EdNet class ( This class is taught throughout Utah via broadcast at specifically designated sites. You do have to attend this class in person.);   Class XXXX-70Y= Hybrid ( This class is taught in a dual format of EdNet and WebCt. You will attend classes at an EdNet site for X amount of times, then the remainder of the class in online) ; Class XXXX-70B= Breeze ( You attend this class in your own home via a WebCam set-up. You will need a WebCam to take the class) .
  11. When can I register for classes?  For a listing of when you can register http://suu.edu/ss/registrar/reg-schedule.html   Remember you can register for classes without paying for them immediately.  Class tuition is due the first day of class.  Don't wait to register,   By registering early will help the Director add new sections for a class that fills quickly or prevent a class that you may need from being canceled because of low enrollment. 
  12. How do I register for classes? The fastest and easiest way is to do it online http://suu.edu/ss/registrar/how-to-reg.html . Remember you can register for classes without paying for them immediately.  Class tuition is due the first day of class.
  13. What GPA do I need to maintain? As a graduate student you must maintain a 3.0 gpa. If your gpa drops below a 3.0 you will be revoked from the program. Readmission will mean going before the Professional Practice Committee.
  14. Where can I find an EdNet site?  Contact Gayemarie Ekker at ekker@suu.edu or 435-865-8353. The predominant sites are SUU, Snow College South, Salt Lake Community College, Springville High School, and Dixie area.
  15. The class I wanted is full. How do I get into the class?  Call the Graduate Office at 435-865-8383 and tell them what class you want to be in. The Graduate Office keeps a waiting list to add more sections of the class.  DO NOT CALL THE INSTRUCTOR !
  16. What books do I need for class?  To find out what books are needed for your class go to http://online.bookstore.suu.edu/wm_cmt.dept.htm . Select the Department. Click "View."
  17. How do I access WebCT? First, WebCt classes are not available for viewing until the first day of class. IF you cannot access the site, contact the professor immediately.  The site https://webct.suu.edu/webct/ticket/ticketLogin?action=print_login&request_uri=/webct/homearea/homearea%3F
  18. How do I drop a class?  The easiest way is to go online to http://suu.edu/ss/registrar/add-drop.html
  19. I have not finished my class work and need to get an incomplete. What do I need to do?  Incompletes are only given if you have completed 75% of the work and are passing the course; otherwise, you will not be granted an incomplete. 


    Tuition Questions:
  20. How much will my tuition be?  You can find out what your tuition cost will be by using the "Cost Estimator"  http://suu.edu/prostu/cost/  
  21. How do I pay for my tuition?  SUU does not send out paper tuition bills so you will need to either contact the Cashier's Office at 435-586-7720 or http://suu.edu/ss/cashier/options.html . The site lists all the tuition and fees with each class.
  22. Does the Graduate College offer any tuition assistance?  The Graduate College does offer tuition assistance. The Tuition waiver is good only for the fall and spring semester. For an application http://suu.edu/ed/masters/tuitionwaiver.html  There is a deadline date of April 1, 2009 for submission.


    Clinical Practice Questions:

  28. I have tons of questions regarding graduation, where can I find out the information?  The best source of graduation information is http://suu.edu/graduation/


    General Information Questions:
  29. My contact information has changed since I applied for admission. Who should I contact?  If your contact information is not correct, you need to have the Registrar’s office update it OR you can change it online http://suu.edu/general/directory/stusearch.html .  Your information will be updated in approximately 24 hours.   ALSO,  please contact the Graduate Office and let them know of e-mail, address, phone number, or name changes.  Take the time to keep all your information current.
  30. I forgot my Pin # - how do I find out what it is?  Go to https://bannersec.suu.edu/pls/proddad/twbkwbis.P_WWWLogin  Please enter your T-Number in the User ID field. The "T" must be capitalized. Then type in your PIN.  For your first login only, your PIN is your date of birth (in MMDDYY format, example: 032584).  Select "Login"  If you have logged in previously but have forgotten your PIN, enter your T-Number and then click "Forgot PIN."
  31. I forgot my T#- how do I find out what it is?  You can either contact https://secure.suu.edu/it/admin/secure/gettnumber.asp  and fill in the requested information. Click "Get Tnumber." O Or contact the Registrar's office directly at 435-586-7715.
  32. How can I order a transcript?  The Registrar's office has a great website where you can apply for a transcript online http://suu.edu/ss/registrar/  Scroll down to "Transcripts/Enrollment Verification"  Click and fill in the requested information.
