Athletic Training Degree

PROGRAM PLACEMENT AND CLINICAL ROTATION

  1. Placement is decided after applicants have been reviewed and the candidates have been selected. The program director and the clinical staff determine rotations.
  2. Athletic Training Major students will be placed at the SUU athletic training rooms.
    • 1st year students will rotate three (3) times each semester between the Centrum, Coliseum, and Harris Center athletic training rooms.
    • 2nd year students will be assigned to a sport or to a specific athletic training room each sport season or semester. They will also have a rotation with the SUU Wellness Center, Advanced Foot and Ankle, Southern Utah Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine, Southern Utah Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, and Workman Chiropractic clinics each semester as class schedules allow.
  3. All students will have the opportunity to work with the high risk sports of football, basketball, soccer, gymnastics, softball, and baseball. Students will work with both team and individual sports. All athletic training room sites are co-educational and students will work with both male and female athletes.
