our NCATE accreditation to be sent out. Would like everyone to take a look and provide
feedback.

areas. Asking each content
area to establish cut scores for their own area. Students have to pass their PRAXIS content area test in
order to do clinical practice.
A Blue sheet was passed out that listed the content areas that the
State has set. A discussion
was held on how establish these cut scores.
- Lee discussed the Block Schedule. The College of Education will
adhere to Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
- Lee discussed the new Gallup Test that is used to
assess teaching dispositions.
We might want to include this in our assessment plan. Dr. Judy Higbee attended a conference
and felt it to be very promising.
Clark County currently uses this to score their prospective
teachers.
- Lee discussed Secondary Program Changes. SCED 3550 will be dropped after
this summer if graduating after Fall 2004. EDUC 2020 has been renamed EDUC 2000 and is a general
education course that will be piloted this summer. EDUC 2000 will be a general
education as well as a College of Education requirement.
- General discussion on what to do when a student
cannot function verbally. A
Professional Progress Report needs to be filled out and 3 PPRŐs result in
a Professional Growth Plan.
The Professional Practice Committee will look at the situation.
