Welcome to the Professional Education Unit Web Site

Welcome to the Web site for the Professional Education Unit at Southern Utah University. Information provided at this site is designed to facilitate the accreditation process and to provide information about the Unit to interested faculty and students.

This site, inspired by the NCATE accreditation process, includes a "Digital Exhibit Room" which houses materials reviewed by NCATE Board of Examiners members as part of an  on-going assessment of Unit performance.  When fully developed, this site will replace the traditional exhibit room, preserving valuable instructional space and insuring easy access to thousands of documents which are essential to the accreditation process.

It is our belief that this "Digital Exhibit Room" will be more easily maintained and in keeping with the true spirit of continual review and improvement which is an essential concept of NCATE accreditation. The documents, once posted to this Web site, become available to the entire education community, making dissemination of information easier and more equitable.

The guiding principle of this Web site is user friendliness. We have attempted to insure that anyone seeking information about our Unit, from the most sophisticated BOE reviewer to the most naive student making initial inquiries, will be able to access the information they need. We hope that we have accomplished this goal but we will continue to monitor and refine this site based on feedback we receive from our users. This site is designed to organize large amounts of information in a hyperlink format for easy reference. Documents found here can stand alone or be reviewed in relation to the six NCATE standards and their descriptors.  Documents are linked to provide easy retrieval.
