Iowa Teacher of the Year (2000), Jacquie McTaggart left the classroom after a highly successful 42-year teaching career.  However, she did not abandon her desire to work with and for kids, parents, and teachers. Her first book, From the Teacher's Desk, was released in January 2004. She maintains an interactive teacher-to-parent web site at www.theteachersdesk.com, publishes a monthly online newsletter for teachers and parents, and writes weekly education/parenting-based columns for two daily newspapers.
