An Easter Celebration features two spiritual works including Charpentier's Te Deum in D. This Music Masterworks performance will take place on Saturday, April 12th at Cedar City’s Community Presbyterian Church, located at 2279 N. Wedgewood Lane, Cedar City, UT 84721.  The concert begins at 7:30pm. This concert was originally scheduled for the Heritage Center Theater and tickets for that venue will be honored at the Church. Tickets are only $10 for Adults, $8 for SUU faculty/staff, and $5 for youth. SUU students are free with a valid I.D. card.

The highlight of An Easter Celebration will be a performance of Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Te Deum in D featuring SUU’s Concert Choir, Women’s Choir, Opus Chamber Choir and SUU Symphony Orchestra. The work will be conducted by Dr. Xun Sun and features five soloists including faculty members, Shannon Birch, director of the Women’s Choir, Jackie Jackson, Adjunct, Music Education/Voice, and Dr. Lawrence Johnson, Associate Professor of Voice/Opera. Two students will also be featured as soloists Alex Byers and Annie Powell. The concert will also include a performance of Lili Boulenger’s Psaume 24 conducted by Dr. Kevin L. Baker.
