Over the years, Andy Nasisse has developed methods of working with clay that bring out the natural qualities of drying, shrinking, glazing, melting, and firing. As part of the Department of Art and Design’s weekly lecture series Art Insights, Nasisse will describe his process of multiple firings and layering of slips and glazes on Thursday, April 17, 2014. The presentation begins at 7:00pm in the Centrum Arena, Section JK. Admission is free and the general public is encouraged to attend.
As an arts educator, Nasisse has taught at the University of Georgia, owned and directed Trace Gallery in Atlanta, and is currently an independent studio artist in Salt Lake City. In addition, he has given over 25 visiting artist lectures or workshops throughout the United States and Canada.
