Motivate your teenager’s creativity over the long summer months with the new SUMA Summer Camp. Students ages 13-18 are invited to attend one, or more, of three sessions, providing historical context, technical workshops, and college and career preparation in the topics of Public Art, Digital Design, and Traditional Media. Each workshop will provide opportunities to learn from professionals in the field. Registration for the Public Art and Digital Design sessions are $100 and the Traditional Media, which will include over $50 in Supplies, is $120. Registration is limited and can be purchased online at https://www.suu.edu/pva/suma/index.html, or by calling the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery at 435-586-5432 (Tue-Sat, noon-7pm).
The Digital Design session will run from July 7-18, 2014. In this session students will develop a firm foundation in design elements and principles through industry standard programs such as the Adobe Creative Suite. No prior experience is necessary and all required materials will be provided. The skills taught in this session will prepare participants for College or a Career in design and will begin to build a professional portfolio of digital work through tutorials taught by working designers and exposure to important trends in design.
