Mike Burton is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at Southern Utah University (SUU). Mike received both an Associate and Bachelor degree of Nursing at Boise State University in Boise, Idaho. He earned his master degree at the University of Texas, Health Sciences in San Antonio, Texas in 1992. He retired from military service in 1996 having served 21 years of active duty.
Upon retirement from the military, Mike taught Nursing School at North Idaho College located in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho for 6 ½ years and at Yavapai College in Prescott, Arizona for one semester. Mike has completed his first teaching year at SUU and looks forward for another exciting year.
His area of expertise includes Medical/Surgical, ICU and CCU, and Operating Room Nursing. Mike has been a nurse for over 27 years. He currently holds certification in the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) and Certified Legal Nurse Consultant (CLNC).
