SUU Geology Alumi Page

Joe and Judy Whitaker went on lark in September. Of course they stopped to enjoy the geology. Joe can be seen here examining a mudflow created by partial melting of the permafrost. Judy is all smiles as she stands in front of the toe of the mud slide. You can contact Joe and Judy at judyjoew@Hotmail.com until summer, 2004. Then they will be leaving the cold behind and headed on some new adventure.

1996 SUU alumnus Jenny Hall smiles before boarding a research vessel for some extended foram work in the Atlantic. Jenny recently completed her Ph. D. at Louisianna State University, and is working on post-doctoral research at Yale University.

Jake Griffiths (Class of 2000) completed his MS at Portland State University in May of 2002. He spent the summer in field work in Mongollia (he looks good on a horse, don't you think?). He has since begun work on a Ph. D. at Purdue University. Take a minute to read a recent article about him in their student newspaper, the Purdue Exponent.
