The unit topic is weather. Have the students take turns on finding
the weather forecast in the daily newspaper. The students will bring the newspaper clipping to class so
that it can be discussed. The
student that brings the clipping will be the meteorologist for the day. They will place their clipping on the
weather board and explain to the class what the forecast is for that day. The class as a whole will then see if
they think that the prediction is accurate or not. They will do this by checking their class thermometer
outside to see what the temperature is.
They will also determine if it is going to rain, snow, or be sunny like
the prediction says.
