The teacher will bring in a blue shower curtain. The students will help trace, color, and cut out continents from construction paper. Next they will label the continents and the oceans with a marker. The teacher will laminate the continents and the students will place them on the shower curtain according to their location on a map (a blue curtain is helpful because it can already represent the water).
The
teacher will velcro the continents to the shower curtain. The finished curtain will be a map and
hang as a backdrop for the students to stand in front of and share their
work. The map can be used
afterwards as an assessment tool for the students to quiz each other on the
locations of the continents.
