1.  Have students create a movie poster to advertise the book that they are reading.  Include: Title, author, main characters, short summary, critic ratings, and picture.

2.   Have students choose a favorite character from the book, and tell them to put themselves in the situation and life of the character and what they would do or how they would feel or act in the situations at hand. Would it be the same? Would it be different?

3.    Discuss with students a KWL (what we Know, what WeÕll learn, what was Learned) chart to access prior knowledge, what the children want to learn and at the end of the book what they did learn.

4.    Divide students into groups and have them choose a scene from the book that they feel is important to the plot and have them perform a skit of the scene they chose.
