Dictionary for 3^rd grade Language Arts

 

            For our dictionary, we have decided to have each student draw a picture representing the vocabulary words. First, the students will be given a word, and then they will use that word in a sentence. Next, the students will draw a picture illustrating their sentence. See examples below.

 

Doll-  Yesterday I played with my doll.

            The picture is then of a child playing with their doll.

Desk-  My books go into my desk.

            The picture is of a desk and books.

Often-  I often go swimming.

            The picture is of the child swimming.

Their-  It was their ball.

            The picture is of a ball.
