Comprehension Strategies for the book Juan Bobo Goes to Work

This book contains words in Spanish so comprehension may be a little hard at first

1. The students will fill in the blanks on a worksheet. The worksheets will be missing key parts of the story and the students will correctly fill in the answers.
2. Students will write their own narrative about doing some sort of job that can be related to Juan Bobo. Their narrative should be one page in length and show that they have understood what working is. They will tell about a chore they do at home and what reward they may get for finishing that chore

3.Students will get in small groups and each will take turns retelling part of the story. They will need to tell the story in order.

4.Students will draw a picture of their favorite part of the story and write a small passage describing the part of the story they chose to draw and why it was their favorite.
