Give each child the opportunity to create their own dictionary. Provide materials so that they can make their own book. As they read through Jaun Bobo goes to work have the children pick out words that they might not understand have them write that word in their notebook and then have the children look up the words in the dictionary to find the meaning. Then have them look in a thesaurus to find words that are related to the word that they did not know. Have the kids write the meaning and related words in their dictionary. After they have found the definition have them search the Internet or magazines for pictures that are associated with the word.
