CENTER: South America

A center that you could use for the South America unit would be to have a South America puzzle. The teacher would need to make a large outline of South America and its countries on a poster board. In a tub or bin, the teacher needs to make puzzle pieces in the shapes of the countries of South America as to fit on the previous mentioned poster board outline. The puzzle pieces need to labeled of what country they are and may also have listed a few of the countries characteristics. The teacher will provide worksheets with a South American country’s name and spaces for the students to fill in characteristics of the country. When the student goes to the center they will pick a puzzle piece, fill out the characteristic worksheet, and then put the puzzle together.
