Decoding Strategies for 3^rd Grade Social Studies

1. Word Scramble

Give students a list of 15 scrambled words and have them unscramble them. Write a paragraph using seven of the fifteen words.

2. Mad Lib

Provide students with a short story that has words omitted from it. Explain to the students that they need to use the word bank to fill in the missing words. They need to choose the word that best completes the sentence.
