BULLETIN BOARDS

(1) An idea for a bulletin board would be to make a map of your community. You would label important places around the city such as the post office, town hall, museum, police department, school, etc. You may take pictures of the actual places and put them in their correct places on the map. (For interactive activities to go along with this bulletin board see ENVIONMENTAL PRINT.)

(2) Let the students manage a bulletin board of their own.  At home the students can search newspaper and magazines for news that is worthy of sharing.  They cut the article out and bring I to class.  At a certain time (perhaps in the morning) the students who brought in an article can share the news and post it on the bulletin board for others to see.  This is a great way for kids to talk and interact with the news that is important to them.
