UNTRADITIONAL BOOK REPORT IDEAS

1. CAKE DECORATING: The students will decorate a cake that covers the topic of the book they read. For example if a student has read a book on the white house they could frost a white house on their cake or print out a picture and put it on, they will also put three interesting facts from their book onto their cake. The cakes will then be displayed in the classroom and all of their peers will be able to see what their book was about.

2. WRITE A PLAY: The students will chose one character out of the book that they have read and then write a play about the day in the life of this person. They will create parents, spouses, children, and friends, to help them write their play.

3. CREATE A NEWS CAST: The students will create a newscast as if the book was happening in real life that very day. The students will be the newscaster and need to tell the audience what is happening in the news (their book). The students will need to create 2 commercials to put in their newscast. Their newscast should be only 5 minutes long that would include the commercials.
