The 4 authentic and meaningful writing assignments incorporated with Charlotte’s Web:

1. Poem: Have your students use the spelling words from the book and use creative writing to create a poem. This can be shared as a class or just in a student’s journal.

2. Play: Give your students the opportunity to pick out a small scene in the book and out it out in front of the class. This will help you see how your students are interpreting and understanding the content in the book.

3. Web page: The students can have the opportunity to get online and work together summarizing the book creating a web page about the book.

4. Song: Divide the class up into groups and have each group put together a song describing the book, let them pick the music and then record on tape.
