Creating a video- After reading a novel, students will be put into groups and be assigned chapters from the book to reinact in front of a video camera. The videos can then be showed to the class in sequence.

 

Present for favorite character- Ask students to pretend they are going to throw a birthday party for his/her favorite character. Have them state where the party will be, how it will be decorated, who will be invited, and what gifts the character wil receive.

 

Rewrite a different ending to a novel- After reading a novel, students will be asked to rewrite a different ending to the story based on what they have read.

 

Add a chapter to a novel- Have students add an additional chapter to a novel where they feel elements of the story are missing or need to be further explained.

 

Create an additional bookcover for a novel- Have students use their creativity and knowledge of the book by asking them to illustate a cover of a novel.
