Fluency:

Puzzle: Each state will be cut (like a puzzle) according to their counties. Each table will have the chance to put the puzzle pieces together to make the shape of the state.

Matching: There will be three sets of two columns. In the first and second sets, column one will contain 17 states and the second column will contain 17 capitals. In the third set, the first column will contain 16 states and in the second column, 16 capitals. The students are to match the correct capital with the correct state in each set.

Flashcards: The front of the card will contain a picture of a state. The back of the card will contain the correct name of the state and capital. The students are to try and recognize the shape of the state and be able to name the capital.

Word wall: There will be a picture of the United States with the name of the state and capital posted on the United States map in the right place.
