Multiplication War

Equipment:      Deck of playing cards.

                             Ace = 1

                             Jack = 11

                             Queen = 12

                             King = 0

Getting Started:     Players divide cards evenly between themselves.   Players turn over two cards each and multiply them.  The player with the highest product collects all four cards.  Play continues until one player has all of the cards.

In the event of a tie (i.e. the same answer) each player deals three more cards face down.  Two more cards are turned over and multiplied.  The player with the highest product collects all of the cards. (In the case of only 1 tie, this is a total of 10 cards)

Variation:              Students use the red cards as negative numbers and black cards as positive numbers when multiplying.

Example:

Player One Player Two
red 7, red 5 red 3, black 6
-7 x Ð5 = 35 -3 x 6 = -18

Player One wins and would collect the cards.
