Book Report Idea

After the student has read a book, have them make a children’s book out of it.  This works best for older grades and with chapter books that don’t have pictures.  The student will have the opportunity to decide what the most important parts are of the book that must be included when adapting it into a shorter version.

Pictures can be added to the story; a title page and/or cover made by the student should be included instead of the original one.  This could be done on a computer or by hand.  As a follow up it would be a fun activity to read the adapted stories to the rest of the class or to a younger class in the school.
