Decoding
- Clap
out words into syllables
- Split
class up into groups and makes word worms. Word worms are when you have each
student take apart of the word (could clap out to find out were the word breaks
up) and put the syllables on a paper in a fun way. Then have the students
connect the syllables together with yarn (or something) to create the word
and then explain it to the class, so everyone learns the word.
- The
class can do wacky words- split the words into syllables and write a paragraph,
sentence or story with the word’s syllables. Example: Triad
Tri-ad - I thought the girl was really
tried of advertising her product.
