Graduate Reading/Literacy Programs at SUU

You may enter the Master's Program at SUU with a reading emphasis. You will be able to meet the endorsement requirements within that program.

Courses filling requirements for Masters Program with a Reading Emphasis AND State Reading endorsement (courses followed by an *) include:

  • EDRG (EDUC) 6330 Teaching with Children's & Adolescent Literature 3*
  • EDRG (EDUC) 6340 Foundations of Literacy 3*
  • EDRG (EDUC) 6345 Advanced Early Literacy and Language Development 3*
  • EDRG (EDUC) 6350 Assessment of Reading Problems 3*
  • EDRG (EDUC) 6360 Prevention and Correction of Reading Problems 3 (Reading Specialist course)
  • EDRG (EDUC) 6370 Teaching Process Writing3*
  • EDRG 6380 (EDUC 6390) Advanced Reading Comprehension 3*
  • EDRG 6390 (EDUC 6550) Supervision of Literacy Programs 3 (Reading Specialist course)
  • EDRG 6890 Reading Specialist Internship 3 (Reading Specialist course)

Graduate reading courses are generally offered through Continuing Education in conjunction with local school districts or regiona service organizations meet the curricular needs of practicing teachers in outlying areas.
