Authentic Assessments

á
One authentic assessment
for math would be to play Jeopardy.
On the board would be the Jeopardy game board. Each column would be a topic covered in second grade math. The class would be split into
teams. To pick which team would go
first do something simple like rock, paper, scissors, or whichever group was
ready first, etc. The team who won
would pick the category and number.
For example, fractions for 300.

When
the question underneath that value had been asked, the time would start. The teams would have fifteen seconds to
solve the problem. Whichever team
quietly raised their hand first would have a chance to give their answer. Remember the answer has to be given in
question form. For example, what
is 4? When a team answers a question correctly they get the value that was
chosen. For example, fractions for
500, the team to get the answer correct would earn 500 points. When all questions have been answered,
or you are out of time, the team with the most points wins.
