CENTERS for MATH

Against the wall, next to the beanbags, there will be a bookshelf will all the books on our trade list.  Students will be able to earn time to go back and read.   On the top shelve would provide books on tape for the students.  There will also be a recorder that the students will be able to record themselves reading.

On the table in front of the bookcase the students will be provided with math puzzles.    Also, on the table would be books that have dot to dots and mazes that work on counting.

On the floor there will be a grid that each square of the grid corresponds to another grid with the correct answer.  Under the correct answer will be a math problem to be able to move to the next grid.  The correct problem would get you to the exit.  The incorrect problem would send you away from the exit.  On each grid would have the problem with the answer from the previous grid to check you are correct.  If it is incorrect, students will move back to the previous grid and solve the problem again.

If you wanted to extend this activity, students can compete to get to the end.  Students will need to start on different grids.
