Manipulatives

1. Use shapes that are different colors (for example: yellow triangles, red squares, blue circles.) and have the children place the shapes in an order pattern. You can use this to assess whether the children understand the concept of pattern.

2. Use the artificial pizza’s that separate into smaller pieces and have the children separate them into halves, thirds, and fourths. Make sure that they realize that it represents the fractions.
