On the floor, we would have a minus sign.  All the desks will be put on the left side of the minus sign.  The teacher would start by giving the math problem with the subtraction problem.  Example; 20 students on the left minus 0 on the right.  20-0= 20 on the left.  As the students share something with another student, then they can move from the left to the right.  The teacher would then write the new problem.  Example:  19-1= 18 on the left. 

       The students on the left would receive a math hat.  When they move to the right they will trade in their math hat for a new Einstein wig or hat. 

       The teacher can adapt this problem to using an addition sign instead of a subtraction sign.
