One idea we
had for integrating technology and math is to use calculators in the
classroom. You wouldnŐt want to use it all
the time, but it could be helpful in some cases. For example, if the class was measuring distance from one end
of the hall to another they could cont home many steps it is from one classroom
to another, then on the calculator multiply it by however many classrooms there
are in the hall. This would give
them an estimation of how long the hall is in feet. Because they are only in second grade and havenŐt
learned multiplication yet this would be a good resource.

We also
thought of making a math tape. The
math tape would have instructions for a series of fun math problems that would
be sort of a game. The students
would have to listen to the instructions while completing the given
assignment.

We also thought of finding a math
website that would have fun math activities that related to the math core. The students would have the opportunity
to go on the website, and complete the specified amount of activities. Here is two of the websites we found:
