FLUENCY

Flash cards-
Cards will have a different custom, picture, or other characteristic
relating to the
specific country (either the United States, Mexico, Japan, of the African
Safari.) Students will need to identify which cards go with which country.
-These cards will also contain spelling words and words found in
the text to help students recognize and apply these words.
-The teacher can use these cards to create a game to encourage
students to convert these words to their long-term memory. (Ex. Students can
play ÔAround the WorldÕ, Jeopardy,
or Baseball.)

ÒVacation DayÓ- Students which country they would like to take a vacation to. They then use the appropriate words from their spelling, flashcards, and other resources to create a story of their vacation in their country. This story will include things they want to see, do, learn, and etc.
-Students can build on and use this story to
get familiar with the words.
-This is a fun and exciting way to get
students motivated about learning.
-Students can share these stories with their
classmates, which will help others learn and well.
